Collaborating with the IEP Team: The Role of the Educational Interpreter

by Jane Freeman

Rebecca S. Moore, CT is the Educational Interpreter Advisor at Lancaster Lebanon IU 13 and was recently our after school video conference presenter for educational interpreters. Her presentation, Collaborating with the IEP Team: The Role of the Educational Interpreter, was well received and generated great discussions among attendees. Becky explained the “how” and the “why” for comprehensive, well documented participation in the IEP process and gave clear examples and resources. She shared guiding questions to help interpreters formulate their input into the student’s present levels and a draft summary report. With many years experience in the field of educational interpreting, she is a great resource and we appreciated her expertise!
