The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education (BSE)/PaTTAN in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Philadelphia, and the SAP Corporation have developed a training program, “Preparing Transition Age Youth with Autism for Employment”, to better prepare students with autism for employment.

A series of instructional modules, based on a specific participant-centered pedagogical framework, has been developed and shared with attendees of the Train the Trainer Sessions held across the State of Pennsylvania October – December 2017. This session is designed to provide an opportunity for trainers to network, exchange information, and receive training on navigating the new Wiki Page. The implementation of agency/region trainings will also be discussed.

Participants will:

  • Explain the critical need for cross-stakeholder collaboration
  • Discuss the processes and/or modules that are working in the implementation of the two-day training materials
  • Identify needs for implementation and/or growth of curriculum use
  • Share ideas with fellow stakeholders may be of value for use in your agency/region

Agency Administrators, Career & Technology Educators, Direct Support Providers, Education Administrators, School Counselors, Speech/Language Therapists, Office of Developmental Programs Staff, Special Educators, Transition Coordinators, Vocational Rehabilitation Staff

Individuals attending this workshop must arrive on time and stay the duration of the workshop in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours.

Topics Covered: Behavior, Leadership
